Modi commended the silver medallist for battling it well in the ladies' singles badminton last in which she lost to Spain's Carolina Marin.

The 21-year-old Indian disintegrated under the constant weight made by Marin to lose 21-19, 12-21, 15-21 in a throbbing last that went on for 60 minutes and 23 minutes at the Riocentre.
Sindhu, the two-time World title bronze medallist, turned into the primary Indian lady player to secure a Silver in the Olympics and fifth lady player from India to win a decoration in Olympics.
